Once a Day Marketing™ featured video blog: Customers Are People First

Hello, I’m Jim Glover, That Branding Guy, for Once a Day Marketing™. Today is Recon Thursday and we are looking at the importance of telling your brand story.

Recently, I had the opportunity to present the achievements of my client, a economic development association, to a Board of County Commissioners. The organization was petitioning for renewal of their annual funding and had to convey the benefits of its operations to the Commissioners.

We presented statistics of increased job growth as well the success stories of recruiting large and small companies. In addition to these functional benefits, we shared the emotional benefits of how the accomplishments of the association were enhancing the quality of life for all residents of the region.

Our goal was to tell the brand story of the economic development organization. We wanted to ensure the County Commissioners clearly understood what made the association unique, compelling and believable. Mission accomplished. The commissioners voted to renew their funding.

Be sure to always share your brand story. Tell your story well. Tell it often. And remember that customers are people first.
